So, who you replacing him wit who is betterh? Because if you get rid of him there are 31 other teams that will get in line to hire him.

I'm not even saying fire Tomlin. Coordinators are hired to be fired, and the roster isn't where it needs to be. Philosophically, they can't win the Super Bowl playing like they do now. They need to catch up on offense. They need playmakers. They need creativity. They need an injection somewhere. Whether Fields is the answer, who knows. They need to be brutally honest about where they are as a team and a franchise and start addressing the issues head-on. We're past the excuses of, "Oh, it's the offensive line, we need to draft linemen and we'll be fine."

To tackle what you said about Tomlin, he does need to reevaluate where he's at. The Eagles once upon a time fired Andy Reid, who has gone on to do some amazing things in KC. Philly won a Super Bowl and has been fine too. I love Tomlin and know how good of a coach he is, and how quickly he would be hired elsewhere.

That said, where was the fight tonight? Has he lost the locker room? Do they need a new voice or perspective? Or is it simply they're lacking on schemes and talent and execution? Those are things need to figure out, because when you go nearly a decade without winning a playoff game, fans demand answers.

I think my enjoyment of this game tripled when I discovered the SpongeBob show. And Nate Burleson is very cool in keeping with the spirit of it.

They're 0-6 in the playoffs since 2016. Tomlin is a good coach, but not a great one. It would certainly help to upgrade the roster, but hovering above .500 every season will just perpetuate the current cycle of mediocrity. The best thing to help the Steelers build the roster is a string of bad seasons. The franchise is in a weird spot.

Not to make a direct comparison, but Peyton Manning was AWFUL in his early playoff games. Including a 41-0! loss to the Jets in his FIFTH season.

I could see Herbert being a modern day Roman Gabriel, playing in Los Angeles for a number of years before joining another team for the balance of his career.
When his receivers hang on to catchable balls they do okay. Chargers aren't a great team.
He would do very well in Minnesota, even looks like a Viking.

Herbert had a good season which led folks to proclaim he'd arrived near the top, then had a playoff game several levels below horrendous. So who knows what he'll be nect?

Many years ago when I was reporting on preps, i covered a five-game state volleyball semifinal. The local team got its ash kicked in the first two games and was down big in the third. They rallied to force a fourth game but got blown out in that one for a 3-1 loss. I asked the coach about the rally in the third game, trying to balance my article with something positive. He grumbled that it took no intestinal fortitude at all to come back there. They weren't really in the match and it was likely just the other team letting up. They were never really in the match. For many reasons, that coach was an ashhole, but he was right in his evaluation of the match. That's how I feel about the Steelers last night. Scoring when they were down 21, then doing it again, doesn't impress me much. They showed no fight at all in the first half and got their butts handed to them in embarrashing fashion. They shouldn't be looking for positives today. Theys should be figuring out the major changes needed to get to the point of being real contenders again.
