Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest TV Theme Songs

In 1974, MTM produced a short-lived (eight-episode) series called "The Texas Wheelers" starring Jack Elam, Gary Busey and Mark Hamill. How could a series like that lose? It was programmed opposite "The Rockford Files."
Here's the theme song:

I never saw it and never knew this series existed. Our ABC affiliate at the time had a weaker OTA signal and we lived behind a big-ash mountain that blocked it.

There are a couple episodes on YouTube. I just watched about five minutes of one show called "The Rebel" and conclude that the series deserved to die.

This thread is giving me a close to terminal case of earworms. Yesterday I couldn't get the theme from "Car 54, Where Are You?" out of my head. And it's getting worse. This morning it's that old '50s hit "Alley Oop" by the Hollywood Argyles.

Honestly, song and visuals alone - I watch that show.

Fun fact: the original theme of the show was this - and you can hear it in some of the music played during the episodes. It helped that the pilot was set in Florida.

Another fun fact:
Simon & Simon had a crossover episode with Magnum, P.I. (the original), which also had a crossover episode with Murder, She Wrote. Therefore, all three exist in the same universe.

As I recall, Magnum and the Simon boys didn't take to each other.
