He may have been "allowed to resign," but don't fool yourself — this was a firing.

As a long time Butler fan, I've seen in the last decade both Brad Stevens and Chris Holtmann leave for greener pastures and a lot more money right around this time of year. WVU has a strong NIL program and pays well. It'll make some other coaches take a look despite the bad timing.

Yep.
It's so obvious as to be offensive and demeaning.
They're screaming it. THIS IS THE ONLY GUY WHO WOULD TAKE THE JOB AND WHO COULD KEEP THE PLAYERS FROM TRANSFERRING AGAIN AND WHO HUGGINS COULDN'T OR WOULDN'T UNDERMINE.
