Russia “coup” running thread - Доверяй, но проверяй

If they've abandoned their Ukrainian positions, they can't just go back, right? Has Ukraine moved into abandoned positions during the interim?

The last hour on Twitter says Wagner gave up, or took money, or something something. No idea what's going on.

подметать ногу!

Now would be a good time to buy a train ticket to Vladivostok and see the Trans-Siberian Railway.
Think that's where Jerry Ford hooked up with Old Leonid back in the day. As a kid watching Cronkite, I was fascinated by a town named Vladivostok. It was fairly easy for a kid to pronounce, as well.

Birthplace of Yul Brenner, too.

My son and I watched a documentary about the conductors on the Moscow-Vladivostok train a while back. It looks like quite a trip, though I have absolutely no desire to ever go to Russia.

Really? Wow. Had no idea.
If the name of that doc comes to you, let us know or pop me a pm. I'd probably enjoy that.
Was recently rereading a book on Aldrich Ames. The CIA at one point (allegedly) was able to rig-up Geiger counter-type something-er-others to monitor missile movements on the Trans-Siberian railroad.

In completely unrelated news, Belfour's whiskey business seems to be doing well. I clicked to join his FB page a while back. No, I don't know why.

This one:

It gives an interesting look at the Russian railways. I'm amused by how they still heat the cars with coal-fired furnaces.

When the yellow it the Wagner Group, I think they're selling mutual funds.

So he's moving to Belarus and disbanding Wagner? What does that do to Russia's presence in Syria and Africa?
