The worst pop song ever

Eight pages of sports writers and no one's mentioned this song? I swear, it gives me 'Nam like flashbacks to covering Little League a decade ago...

I like that one. Mostly because of the Chuck Berry reference , which is way cooler than all the baseball player shout-outs.

When Fogerty pulled out that bat guitar at a concert, my wife looked over at me and mouthed the words, “I’m sorry.” She knows my hatred of the song is deep and personal.

Topping my list is Supertramp’s “When I Was Young.”

I hate all Supertramp songs. This is just the worst.

I think "Little Willy" by The Sweet gets a bad rap. It's not a bad melody, taking the lyrics out of the equation. Lots worse crap on AM radio in the spring of 1973, I'm sure.

There is definitely men of a certain age vibe going on this thread so I’m breaking out something modern.

For awhile, she and Katy Perry seemed to be in a race to make the most annoying sounds on a song…but the “oh awoah oh” is still the worst.

I’ll throw the Cranberries into the mix, with that godfuckingawful yodeling Dolores O’Riordan loved to do:

I don’t want to speak ill of the dead, but she ruined this song. It has been covered several times since by less annoying bands, and it actually turns into a half-decent song.
