The worst pop song ever



In the "road to heck is paved with good intentions" division.

The funny thing is - if Paisley just made it a solo, ane not drag LL Cool J into it - I think it would have stayed under the radar.

I've never really understood the term "pop".

Except in one context, two words:

Barry Manilow.
 
I once covered a pot rally on a Native American reservation that had Wang Chung as the lead act.
 
I don't know. It's so bad it's good. Especially when I'm the middle of this rather depressing song about a boy who thinks his cop dad was killed, they play what sounds like yakety sax riff. As if they were sitting around thinking the song was missing something and someone suggested "what if we invoke a bunch of clowns running around maniacally?" And they all went for it.

"Daddy was a cop, on the East side of Chicago."

That automatically gets this song Gonged. Almost as bad as Kim Wilde's "Kids in America," which is an awesome tune until she inexplicably decides to use "East California" in the lyrics. (And don't even get me started about "South Detroit.")
