Man, that sucks. I'd like to think they are Up There just waiting for us to play catch, get bellly rubs, or whatever their thing was again.

My original three things that suck now suck more and I can't come up with a single thing that helps.

Opie's tumor was an aggressive, malignant tumor that did not respond to radiation. My amazing, partner in so many adventures, once in a lifetime dog was euthanized on Wednesday.

I am a long time dog owner so I've gone through this before, but losing Opie has crushed me.

I'm sorry. My condolences.

Things that suck: my MS, the minor stroke I had, no longer being able to drive, my Browns, my Cincinnati Bearcats, my MAGA-undermined country, "sovereign citizens," most television ads, ABC's "The Last Days of Gene Hackman" death-porn special and its ilk.

Not sucking: "The Pitt" on Max and, tentatively, the Cleveland Cavs season.

Something that doesn't suck: I had a great guest speaker in one of my clashes yesterday. She's a graduate of our university and currently on a national TV show. The students had no idea she was going to be in clash, and that was the first time a guest speaker ever received applause before actually speaking.

Things that suck: Being diagnosed with a rare form of incurable cancer at 42 years of age, while the current admin takes aim at cancer research.

Things that don't suck: GF and I put together a quick trip last week to Italy since I have never been to Europe. It was a magical escape from everything before chemo starts tomorrow. Oh, and maybe I won't live to see the end result of this admin's pettiness and cruelty.

My sister-in-law, whom I adore, has stage 4 breast cancer, and while overall she's doing OK for now, she's also making the most of every single moment while she feels up to it.

I am sorry to read about the diagnosis, but I was happy to see that you're living your life as best you can while you can.
