Thoughts and Prayers: The Religion Thread

You've pointed out the splinter in their eye. What's the plank in your eye?

So, better not have any opinion on the rip job New Republic guy does on Christianity, lest I'm ready to...confess my own rip jobs on Christianity?

My point - and of course you know this - is Jesus' teachings on wealth are often celebrated separate from less popular teachings on sexual ethics. Some people - tho not me - embrace the opposite approach, which is no better.

That wasn't a rip job on Christianity.

What's the big "own" here? That some people who call themselves Biblical literalists don't act as if the Bible is to be taken literally means ... what?

"Jesus taught some pretty tough sexual ethics."

"Yeah, but some people say they're to be followed to the jot and tittle and then don't do that."

"Ummmm ... so?"

Any Christian interpretation that doesn't follow progressive orthodoxy is bad!

Which is what the title of the thread probably ought to be.

That's not how what's been posted lately reads to me. It's been more like, "Christians have varied beliefs ... can you believe that?!?"

I've known a few LDS people and their families and they're quite good people in real life. I've also heard some stuff about their ritual beliefs that would make Tom Cruise blush.

This is what the Trumpist klan is up to. Notice the role that their VP plays.
The Army of God Comes Out of the Shadows

The ideas have seeped into Trumpworld, influencing the agenda known as Project 2025, as well as proposals set forth by the America First Policy Institute. A new book called Unhumans, co-authored by the far-right conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec and endorsed by J. D. Vance, describes political opponents as "unhumans" who want to "undo civilization itself" and who currently "run operations in media, government, education, economy, family, religion, and arts and entertainment"—the seven mountains. The book argues that these "unhumans" must be "crushed."

Is that Christian?
Are we sure the Left is at fault ?

I suppose we will be sending tanks into St. Peter's Square unless Elon gets to run the next conclave.
