Week 13 college football thread: Don’t It Make My Buckeyes Blue?

Purdue takes control in the fourth quarter and gets a late pick-six to go up 31-10 on Indiana. Looks like they'll get the chance to get steamrolled by Michigan next week.
Damn. I was hoping for an Illini-Michigan rematch. As it is, Big Brett's got his program on the right trajectory. Don't think it's a fluke.

I like stupid things, so rooting for Purdue to win the Big Ten.

Don't tell my Hoosier wife.

Unrelated: Did anyone have a weirder year than South Carolina?

That was definitely the most bizarre eight-win season, in terms of week to week flow, I can remember in a while. Two weeks ago they were utterly debacled by a mediocre Florida team, and before that they had a loss to Missouri and a struggle win vs. Vandy. Then they come back and drive the stake through two playoff contenders. I had no idea until today that they were even closing in on eight wins.

I updated my question since your reply, but thanks. The B12 definitely cannibalized itself this year. Probably going to be TCU vs. Varsity in the title tilt.

A two-loss Bama team that doesn't win its division should never be in consideration. But they probably will be because that's how the Tide rolls.

And I'm not even so sure it was cannibalization in the Big 12 so much as teams just utterly collapsing. Oklahoma was a disaster. Oklahoma State was a top 10 team and 5-0 at one point and finished 7-5. Kansas was a darling for a hot minute and its only win in the past two months was against an equally fading Oklahoma State.
The SEC cannibalized itself a bit with Tennessee hurting LSU and LSU taking out Alabama. The Big 12's second best team has three losses, including one non-conference loss at home to a G5 team (admittedly a very good G5 team, but still).

I think I agree with that, even tho USC's schedule was such dogshirt.

LSU's wasn't much better. Even though it was Week 1 with a new coach, it lost its one marquee non-conference game. If you say Notre Dame and Florida State are about equal, then a USC win over Notre Dame vs. an LSU loss to Florida State is another point in USC's favor.
Plus, LSU's two losses were in what was essentially a home game vs. Florida State, and a blowout at home against Tennessee. USC's was in overtime on the road against a top 25 Utah team.
I have no great love for USC — the 2003 national championship debate still chaps my ass a bit — but by any objective measure a one-loss, Pac-12 champion USC vs. a two-loss SEC champion LSU shouldn't even be much of a debate.

Helluva game in Corvallis. Went from Oregon, 31-10, to Oregon State, 38-34 with about 5 minutes left. Ducks self-destructs. Beavers can't pass, but are ripping off long runs on every play. Ducks driving for a go-ahead score.
