Why haven't they gone to a replay of that final shot yet?
I saw one on the broadcast. Clearly over.

Well, the story says Ellis was told she would run third, and that leg was Gabby Thomas, who is not a 400 specialist. So that would be my guess.Apologies if these two items have been posted already - Been busy with taking care of the baby today, so might have missed a couple of posts.
This is an interesting story to follow. Ultimately didn't matter, because the 4x400 women's relay team was dominant, but seems like there might have been some mismanagement there. No mention in the ESPN story about who replaced Ellis.
Ellis 'blindsided' by late scratch in U.S. relay final
Noah Eagle, IMHO, has been very good all tournament.Jeez, Noah Eagle nailed the end of that game.
Call me insane but I'd rather have the experienced 200 m gold medalist than the 400 runner who had to run the repechage because she couldn't get out of the qualifying round.Well, the story says Ellis was told she would run third, and that leg was Gabby Thomas, who is not a 400 specialist. I'm with you. I did find it interesting that three of the four members of the 4x4 relay team that blew away the rest of the world are not primarily 400 runners.Call me insane but I'd rather have the experienced 200 m gold medalist than the 400 runner who had to run the repechage because she couldn't get out of the qualifying round.

Including a beheaded Trump would be OK with me, like the French did with Marie Antionette.I still think NBC could have avoided the Opening Ceremony "controversy" over BlueMan if they had someone other than Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning offering context and insight to what was going on with each act of the ceremonies.
Thinking forward to LA in four years - I don't know how they'll make LA seem "interesting" like they make the foreign locales. Maybe team Snoop with someone famous in another country who has never been to LA before? Heck, who knows where our country will be four years from now.
