Now on the tee, from USA: The 2024 Open Championship thread

For people who only sorta watch golf when the majors are on, I think Schauffele and Scheffler are the golf equivalent of Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman.
Then they are missing so much.

Scottie's 3 wood on Sat at 17 might've been one of the most amazing shots I've seen in my lifetime from a yardage standpoint, it was playing 270-280 in rain.

Xander's back 9, especially 10-15 was so smooth. I heard 15 green, playing 490? Was 2 nd smallest green on whole course. That's what made it so tough and he greened it.

PGA Tour Player of the Year will be an interesting argument if Xander wins another gold medal and then the FedEx Cup, which of course the Tour treats like a major. But the Masters champ has some big Tour pelts this year including the "fifth major."
Definitely a strong case for both. And while the FedEx Cup will never be as important as the Tour wants it to be, it definitely can be the deciding factor between Scottie and Xander.
