2014-15 NFL Coaching Carousel Thread

Falcons were 12th in the league in points scored, 8th in total yards.

Defense was 27th in points given up, dead last in total yards.

Offense isn't the issue; this team needs a complete defensive makeover. Do that and they can quickly be competitive in the NFC again.

I know what you mean, but they were competitive this year.

I know what you mean, but they were competitive this year.

They won six games, five against their fellow shirtty AFC South teams. They were only competitive in a "We're lucky our division is terrible" way.

heck, they lost to the dysfunctional Bears at home.

I think Ryan could make a Bears defense with some decent young talent fairly competitive in a short time. Certainly more than it has been the past couple of years. Whether he'd want to deal with a more-talented version of Mark Sanchez is another thing. But he'd have a heck of a running back to build an offense around.

The Falcons do need a new running back, and they'll eventually need a WR to replace Roddy White, but they do have some decent offensive linemen. Jake Matthews might be better next year if he avoids injuries.

The defense definitely needs an overhaul, though. Marcus Trufant is the only player really worth keeping for the long term.

With that said, you at least have an owner that, while he has his faults, isn't totally clueless. Atlanta's a far better coaching situation to be in than with the Jets, the Raiders or the Niners.
