2021 MLB postseason thread

I'm getting a kick out of my old Atlanta high school classmates on Facebook this morning celebrating the win while sharing their memories. Whole lotta revisionist history if you're saying you regularly went to games before 1991, when the bandwagon flew way open.
I was at the game where Rose's hitting streak was stopped…I'm a Chief Knock-A-Homa lifer!!!

Add Drew Smyly to the list of 2014 Detroit Tigers starting pitchers who have a World Series championship ring, but not with the Tigers. That's SIX.

Justin Verlander
Max Scherzer
Rick Porcello
David Price
Anabel Sanchez
Drew Smyly

Bet on the team that signs Robbie Ray for 2022.

The National League has won three consecutive World Series with three different team. It got me curious as to the longest such streak and it was 1979-1982 with the Pirates, Phillies, Dodgers and Cardinals. The longest AL streak was 83-85 with the Orioles, Tigers and Royals.

Ten different teams won between 1978 and 1987. That looks like the longest streak. If I counted correctly, we're at 8 now and there were a couple stretches with seven.

I think you're right. There wasn't one longer than 5 until that 78-87 streak but we might be getting close to breaking it. Starting in 2014, we have had a different team every year with no duplicates: Giants, Royals, Cubs, Astros, Red Sox, Nationals, Dodgers, and Braves.
