2024-25 CFB coaching carousel

Poor Bama.
@dixiehack You need to dig deeper. Maybe look under the cushions or car for extra change.

Bama AD tells fans to 'fight back,' help fund NIL
Ell Oh Ell.

They better extract what they can from my gymnastics season tickets and occasional basketball game. (I either get a free ticket for football or a cheap one on the secondary market.) I won't even pay their larcenous concession stand prices now. I'm sure as hell not spreading the bucks directly to the long snapper.

What this will do is wipe out the payments the athletic department used to give to the university itself (one of the very few places that could say that). I'm sure the legislature will be happy to make up the shortfall.

The appeal to the rank and file is interesting.

Wouldn't be surprised if the carousel takes another spin or two - I could see two or three college coaches get NFL jobs particularly when you see coaches being asked to give some of their salaries to NIL efforts.

Saw where the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma - a true Brent Venables disciple - bailed after one season in Norman to go to West Virginia.

His defense was OU's lone(?) bright spot this season, and rumors are he was offered a raise to $1.3 million to stay.

He previously was the DC for Rich Rod at Jacksonville State, so I get the appeal of reuniting with him again. But bailing on OU and the SEC to go to West Virginia and the Big 12 feels like a pretty big indicator of what kind of a hot seat Venables is on right now.

I would certainly want to make that move to the NFL if I had to deal with the new world disorder of the college game.
