2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Famous officiating words on a last shot like that.
Unless you see blood or a body on the floor, let it go.

Shouldn't Arizona fans have some concern that their team gave up 96 at home during conference play and letting the ref determine the outcome on bad calls than focusing on inane chants?

Earlier this year, there was a thread on the ASU subreddit begging the students not to do a "F**k the Mormons" chant during the BYU football game… because ASU's QB, Sam Leavitt, is apparently Mormon.
These anti-LDS chants have happened at other venues too. Pretty disgusting.

And there are lots of members of the LDS church in Arizona, especially in the Mesa area.

Exactly. There's a big LDS "Institute of Religion" right in the middle of the ASU campus. A lot of non-Mormon students take a clash there just to get a parking permit at the Institute.

Arizona State has the second-largest LDS enrollment of any college in the country. That sounds crazy until you look at its total enrollment figure, which is ~ 80,000.

Janet Napolitano even took a trip to SLC when she was Arizona governor to learn more about the faith.

But the best Mormon trolling I saw was at a BYU-San Diego State basketball game a few years back: A sign reading "Hi Moms."

I always think some top recruit/transfer in hoops or fb should publicly announce that he or she has crossed those schools off their list for potential landing spots, whether they are Mormon or not, bigotry is bigotry.

Houston-Texas Tech is a Top 10 matchup tonight. But why bother when you can dine at the Sickos banquet?
