2024-25 College Basketball Thread

VCU had two dudes who played at four different schools on its roster this year. Phil Russell played at Saint Louis, SEMO and UT Arlington before ending in Richmond. Joe Bamisile was at Virginia Tech, Oklahoma and George Washington prior to VCU. It's wild. You cannot get attached to any player. It's just all rooting for laundry.

We're in double-OT now as the Alabama star was fouled on a last-second three point shot and made all three free throws.

This might be the best tournament game yet; men or women.
Over now. Maryland, which apparently is in charge of entertainment for both brackets, advances 111-108. Sarah Ashlee Barker set a school record with 45 points but it wasn't enough. Alabama's other two leading scorers fouled out in the fourth quarter.

The UConn statement accuses the reporter of being in a place he was not entitled to occupy. I'd like to see them prove that. I'd also like to see somebody ask the university about that claim. And then ask the NCAA to weigh in on the topic.
Depends on whom the reporter works for. If it's a certain chain, UConn will have them pissing down their leg like a Saudi who's been told America has invented cold fusion.

When was the last time two women's teams both scored triple digits? Let alone the tournament
This appears to be only the third time in the tournament that it has happened.
DePaul 104, Oklahoma 100 in the first round in 2014 and Alabama over Duke 121-120 in 4OT in a sweet 16 game in 1995. (Although sports-reference.com mixed up winner and loser in that Bama-Duke game, the NCAA record book is consistent.)
