2024-25 NBA running thread

I hate the over-reliance on 3 pointers, but I could not disagree more that the game is completely unwatchable. There are so many good teams who are fun to watch.

In terms of betting, if you aren't doing your research on who may be out that game, that is on you as a bettor.

My experience may be unfairly clouded by being a Suns fan. They are close to unwatchable.

It is amazing how one's favorite team's performance clouds that. I look at 1995 as a golden era of baseball because I'm a Cleveland fan, while every other market was reeling from post-strike malaise.

The 90s were a golden era for my Pacers and I remember those teams very fondly.

I also remember how boring the games could often be with iso play after iso play and a lot of standing around. Watching whoever had the mismatch back his defender down 800 times a night got old.

My current Pacers squad isn't as good, though they might could get there, but they're a whole lot more fun to watch.

Bobby Portis picks up a 25-game suspension today as well. Slow news day in the Association.

Agreed. The aesthetics of the game are not really the issue.

And it's possible the Anthony Edwards generations wins some folks back.

I think part of it is we know too much and see these guys too much. And they see themselves too much on social media. Kevin Durant is probably a much more likeable guy 30 years ago. He was pretty darn likeable in the first 5-6 years of his career. Then he found Twitter. And people found him finding Twitter.

Of course, Jokic is a I'm-so-over-it grump in any era.
