I get it if you were nine to 14 in 1990 or from Chicago. I illogically think every baseball player from 1994 was incredible.Jordan worship makes that impossible. People act like you are stealing their childhood if you question whether someone could be better than Jordan.
But there are dudes who scream about it, you think about it and realize they were 40 years old at the time. From the west coast.
Is it the shoes? Did the shoes make every person think they have stakes in Jordan's legacy?
I don't care either way. It just mystifies me how you'd tie up your identity in Michael Jordan, the world's least cuddly celebrity.
I'm the same age as LeBron. I grew up in the same state. I covered him as a high schooler. I rooted for the Cavs. I have no identity tied to LeBron being considered the best basketball player.
