College football week 14 thread: The Greatest Story Ever Toad

Oregon QB Jay Butterfield in the portal. Is 6'6 220, ranked as the No. 5 Pro-Style QB in the 2020 class. He held 15 offers out of high school including Tennessee, Michigan, and others.

Never played much, UO brought in two upperclassmen transfers in the post-Herbert era, their young QBs hardly ever played, even in blowouts, and all left/in process of leaving. One was the starter at Texas Tech. Another was not very good at Va Tech and then not very good again at SDSU. His dad briefly played QB at Stanford but got into some kind of trouble there.

Should have three years of eligibility and be able to play in 2023.

I expect the other young guy, Thompson, to follow suite shortly. Most of the media out here expects they'll have another 1-and-done transfer QB next season too and keep the whichever high school phenom they sign on the bench.

It is part of a NIL deal, so I'm guessing they'll find some takers higher up the food chain.
Speaking of, I heard a friend the other day suggest that NIL contracts include stipulations that players must play in the bowl game if physically capable. I'm OK with that.
