Is it time to do away with All-Star games?

I don't know what Vegas is comping this weekend - hotel rooms and such - but I imagine they will turn a tidy profit off the action the NHL and NFL players do alone on the floors (and I'm not talking about the rink or Alliegient.)

The baseball ASG was cool growing up in the '80s.

Same with the NBA when it was simple with the dunk and 3 contest and a no-defense but still entertaining game.

Never really got into the Pro Bowl or NHL ASG but always watched till a certain again.

I had the baseball game circled on the calendar growing up. It was always a big deal to me. Maybe it was like someone else said, one of the only chances you'd get to see all those great players play against each other. It also always seemed like it was the beginning of the end of summer on the kid calendar (at least mine).

Never cared for any of the others. Maybe basketball if a player I liked got in since not many do and the spots there are are generally for the most mainstream stars.
