"I've reached that age when..."

I have seen a couple of them still operating here in central Washington.

Need to stop in one of them just to see if they still have the tabletop Ms. Pac-Man game.

The last time I was in Costco, they had for sale a combo tabletop Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. My wife shooed me away before I could even look at the price and make my case for it.

I went to my niece's wedding last Sunday. Earlier in the week, one of my bro-in-laws texted me and asked what I was wearing. I said suit. He said OK. I told my wife I was reserving the right not to wear a tie with my suit. She said OK. We got there. I had my tie in the truck just in case but decided not to put it on. Got inside, me and two other bro-in-laws all had on suits, no tie. We just laughed.

My wife's aunt died this summer. It was well over 90 degrees the day of the funeral, which started with a graveside service. My wife insisted that I wear a suit and tie. I got there and none of the men were wearing their sportscoats or ties, including the aunt's sons and grandsons. It was just too darn hot. I was just glad we were by the car when I saw that so I could ditch mine.

When I was in junior college in the early '70s, the Pizza Hut was about a block away from our campus football stadium. After our first game, The Hut was over-run, they ran out of pizza dough and beer. They tried to bring in more dough from their other Hut across town. The jukebox was cranking and people wanted to dance. Four guys from the wrestling team lifted up the salad bar and carried it out to the parking lot, creating an open space for a dance floor. I think the Pac-Man table was taken out, too. We spent a lot of time at that place.

I'm not a clothes horse, but I lament the fact that there are places 10 years ago I wouldn't have darkened the door without a suit and tie that I will today. I don't want to go back 100 years ago to wearing suits and ties to baseball games, but I do wish people would take pride in themselves.

They are now selling tiny houses at Costco and on Amazon. I may finally be able to buy a house!!!!

Utterly fantastic story. So good.

I think when people stopped dressing respectably for air travel, that's when all was lost in attire. Probably an old man rant but that's why we're here.
