"I've reached that age when..."

I pretty much gave up on people dressing appropriately when I saw a dude at Broadway show in a tank top and flip flops.

I wouldn't call it a Southern custom but it is common at places I've been for people to come call at funeral home visitation dressed in their work clothes as they are either starting or ending their day or sometimes giving up a meal break to come pay respects. These are good salt of the earth people and I appreciate them all, whether they are in a three-piece suit, nurse's scrubs or mechanic's coveralls.

But there is another set of people who have taken this grace note and turned it into an excuse to forego dressing up for the actual funeral when they had plenty of time to prepare. You may not have anything more formal than blue jeans, but for God's sake you can find a clean pair without holes. And it is very rare that any man doesn't have a collared shirt somewhere. The $12.98 polo from Walmart will do fine, thank you. In desperate moments at least find a clean, monochrome T-shirt and not one logo'ed up like a stock car.

I would love to replay to this, but there is literally nothing of substance I can add. Good work.

If you show up at an airport all dressed up, you're targeting yourself for being pulled out of the line for a TSA pat-down. They don't want to be accused of singling out slobs.

I am attending a co-worker's mother funeral tomorrow. My thought is to wear a suit and tie but I'm going with other co-workers who won't be as dressed up. I don't want to overdress, so I will probably go sports coat and tie, which I can remove if it's too much.

Spoke with a co-worker who's my age (mid 60s) who said he'd rather under dress than over dress. I'm opposite, I'd rather standout for dressing up too much than not dressing up enough.

It's a shame that we've devolved to the point where dressing properly for a funeral would be considered dressing up.

I've reached the age where the "enjoy the zen" clips YouTube TV uses to cover up commercials are sometimes more enjoyable than the game I'm watching.

I work from home, about 10 hours a day at my desk. To help break up the monotony, I have a flat screen mounted on the wall to my left, like a side window.
Usually I have a YT channel called New England Webcams streaming (there's a little train that goes to the top of Mt. Washington that is a new entry to my bucket list) but lately I've been watching a stream called Neon Drives which is a dash cam as a car drives long distances. It's fascinating. Yesterday I started my morning in Florence and ended the day in Rome. My favorite is a drive I have taken at least 30 times IRL, Albuquerque to LA.
