NFL Week 11 thread -- scramble up some Eggs Manske

Gotta love Twitter. Chargers fans are still whining about Cameron Heyward not getting thrown out for falling on Herbert, for which he was penalized, even though their guys laid out two Steelers with illegal hits to the head that were not penalized. I was under the impression that launching yourself at a defenseless player's head was a no-no these days. Apparently not. (Yes, the fact that the league hasn't addressed either play is annoying me.)

I think the hit on Najee Harris was posted earlier, but here it is again. It's not like the defender can claim Harris lowered his head. He was in mid-air.

Here is Cameron Sutton's play on NFL.com. Interesting that the replay stops right before the slow motion of the Chargers' offensive lineman drilling him in the head, knocking Sutton's helmet off.

Can't-Miss Play: Sutton dives to secure Heyward's leaping deflection for HUGE INT

Harris got a Tito Santana flying forearm to the head. That was Burfict bad.

The hit on Sutton was just a big donkey not used to tackling. There should be a lot more grace to him.

Sutton was on the ground. He didn't have to tackle Sutton. He wanted to take a shot at him and dove right at his head. I'm not inclined to give either guy much grace, but I'm more annoyed with the officials for missing those hits and the league for not fining both players.

By the way, it was Kyzir White who delivered the illegal hit on Harris.

When I was 11, my father took me to a Lions game at Tiger Stadium for my birthday
The Lions led the Packers 21-3 at halftime
The Packers ended up winning 31-21, sparked by a 50-yard TD pash on third-and-1 to Bob forking Long
Years later, I recounted this story to a co-worker who is an ardent Packers fan
He told me he was watching the game and by halftime he was crying
His dad told him not to worry, the Packers would win
And THAT's why they're the Lions
