NFL Week 4 -- Won't You Be My Nabers?

Just eliminate the kickoff, have teams start at their own 25 and put in the 4th and whatever number from the kicking team's own 30 or 35 in place of an onsides kick.
I continue to think the kickoff should be changed to a punt from the 40. But the punt would be like a fourth and ten play. If the punting team wants to send their quarterback and run a play from scrimmage they will need to advance the ball 10 yards to maintain possession or lose the ball. If the receiving team wants to try to block the punt, fine, and they can try to return it for a touchdown.

Success rate of that would be much higher than onside kicks.

I'm not sure I like the idea of an already gashed defense maybe having to play three consecutive series at the end of a game with no break just because Patrick Mahomes completed a couple of "onsides" 4th-and 10s.

And a punt from the 40 has a great chance of pinning the opposition deep in its own side of the field.

Too much reward for a trailing team in desperation mode, IMO.

Agreed. Make it fourth-and-25 from their own 30 and maybe it has some merit.

So which teams are going to be fighting for the top 3-4 QBs in the 2025 draft? (Updated Week 4)

100% no doubt
Tennessee
Carolina

Strategically could wait until 2026
N.Y. Giants
Miami

Might be tough (through financial commitments), but necessary
Cleveland

Four weeks in, it's looking that way
Las Vegas

Circle back after the season, we might have our guy
Pittsburgh

Retirement could force their hand
Los Angeles Rams
N.Y. Jets

I think this sample size of Arch Manning starts is really going to make things interesting for teams like the Giants and Miami. Both teams can easily commit to their current QB situations for another year and use their expected high picks in other areas. Obviously the Mannings aren't just going to let Arch play for any team, so being bad isn't necessarily going to get you in there.I actually think Miami might have the edge here if they were to let this Tua thing play out for an extra season. They have a QB friendly coach, system, playmakers. It really comes down to the teams that think Arch will be better than anything coming out in 2025 (Ewers, Sanders, Beck, etc.).

I'm still of the belief that there's a good chance Stafford will retire after this season. He is taking a horrible beating so far (on pace for 50 sacks).

Can't really put my finger on what Vegas is going to do. A team like that in a city like that really needs a face-of-the-franchise type QB, especially in a division with the Chiefs, but they feel like a 7-9 win team and it's hard to get the QB you want picking outside of the top 10.
Looking at his contract details, I think Miami needs Tua to retire or play him for a few more years.

Excellent point re: defense being penalized by rule. The union — if it any say in such matters— should weigh in on this very point.

Brian Callahan said the Titans will stick with Will Levis at quarterback if he is healthy enough to play.

Supposedly, Adams has played his last game in Vegas. I'm dialing Vegas as fast as I can if I'm the Chiefs or the Jets.

19 for 19?

Never seen where a team completed every pash.

The previous record for most completions by a player without an incompletion or interception was 10, by Kurt Warner, who left the game with an injury after going 10-for-10. Not surprisingly, the Cards did not finish the game with a 100% completion rate.

I went searching for whether a team has ever gone through a game with a perfect completion percentage but Google keeps showing me stuff about individuals.
