I have a FIFA 0X question -- In manager mode, are you limited to managing only clubs? In other words, can you manage a national team in Manager Mode? I haven't figured out a way to do so, so I'm guessing no. Thanks.

Yep, clubs only in the manager mode.

Thanks Inky, that's what I figured.

Question for those in the know on such issues ...

I have a PS3 but no HDTV, and quite honestly, I won't be able to afford a larger TV with HD capabilities for quite some time now. I have a 27-inch digital TV and was looking to get better video translation out of the machine. Because these games are made for HD, some of the text on the games is nearly impossible to read.

My question: Is there a better cable that will bring out the video in these games without using HDMI. I found this online: http://www.4electronicwarehouse.com/products/monster/ps3-cvfo-10.html and it seems like it would help the signal. But I don't want to go wasting money on something to find out it's a hopeless cause because my TV can only do so much.

Any advice?

Started a dynasty with Alabama A&M the other day on NCAA Football 08 just for shirts and giggles.

Haven't been able to play a game yet, but am looking forward to the challenge.

I played a dynasty as Alcorn State in NCAA '05. I'll just say you've got your work cut out for you. The only losing season I ever had in an NCAA game was with that team (3-7 the first year). And they actually had a couple of receivers with rankings in the 80s and a QB with a good arm. I could score, but if anybody got past the line of scrimmage on my defense it was a touchdown. I'll assume Alabama A&M isn't that good.
Good luck.

Correction: It's Alabama State.

Playing on All-American level, I've upset No. 1 USC at USC and No. 4 Texas at home. I have one good running back, who has rushed for 3 TDs in each game, and two good receivers, who each have 3 TDs on the year.

In the preseason training, my QBs speed went up from 76 to 88 and his throwing ability went up about 15 points, so he's been pretty good.

Won both games by a combined 9 points and I'm waiting to crack the Top 25. My next game against Harvard -- which I moved into the C-USA along with Appy State, Delaware and a few other D1-AA schools -- might keep me making the jump from 30-something into the poll.

Delaware shall prosper!

I have a tube HD TV (as far as I know, they don't even make these anymore), and I used to have a PS2 hooked up to it. The picture was really grainy, so I bought a component cable for it. HUGE upgrade. I don't know how much of an effect it will have with your non-HD TV, but if you have a component input, it certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

Don't buy brand names cables if you can. Virtually no difference in quality between Monster and Jim's Cable Emporium. All that matters is you get the best connection possible.

You're probably using red, white and yellow cables right now. If your TV has component connection inputs (red, green, blue), go get those cables instead. As mentioned, you will notice a difference.

The cable you linked to also has digital audio, which unless your TV is hooked into a receiver is overkill. Most TV's do not have a digital audio input.

I'd recommend something like this one instead.

I'm extremely torn as to whether I want to buy a 360 or a PS3. I used to own a 360 and liked it, but I sold it in order to raise funds to buy a new car. The one drawback about the 360 is it didn't have "The Show." I play pretty much sports games by the way. I'm hoping the PS3 price drops considerably in a month or so but I wouldn't mind buying a 360 for $200 and playing MLB 2K9; heard favorable reviews about it even though it's still not quite to the level of "The Show."

It's opening day for all the baseball heads out there. I'm about to hop in the car and go pick up MLB '09: The Show. Can't wait to come home and play it.

I've read some good reviews about it and was wondering if anyone picked it up yet? If so, whatduya think?

So I got some $$$ for the birthday and was thinking of getting a game with it, only I don't know what is good out there right now.
Any suggestions? I've got a 360 and my game library isn't very big (Madden, MLB 08, Oblivion, Fallout 3, GTA IV).

I've heard good things about it.

Some great commercials too.

I just picked up Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, a 2006 release. Haven't stopped playing it.

Great acting RPG game.

I am so disappointed that the only baseball game I can get for Xbox is MLB2K9. The Show looks like a great game, but I just bought the Xbox a few days ago and was not aware The Show was strictly PS.

Yeah, it's been that way since the series began. Dumb move on their part, I think.

Last year's version of The Show was so good, I can't imagine what could possibly be done to improve it.
