The SJ.com Style Guide, version 3.0

Jesus Christ.

I get an alert that I've been mentioned on this thread, and I think, finally, people are going to start recognizing my contributions -- my impact, you might say -- to this site (yes, I nearly spelled it out as sight), and this is what I get?

For fork's sake, can we spare a moment for "LOL"? How about "OOPBot"?

Do my crusades against marijuana and teachers who can't be fired, no matter how bad they perform, mean nothing to you guys?

Has "pot smoking loser" no been entered into the lexicon?

I don't know if I can claim credit as being the first to use "Devilish" as a synonym for stupid -- in an ode to a former poster -- but I certainly helped to popularize it.

Similarly, any poor analogy is described as Baronesque, in tribute to the king of poor analogies, beginning with the infamous car analogies.

But, go on. Mock me for the line you quoted, if you must. I thought I had him/them dead to rights, caught using a specific argument or catchphrase, while signed in under different handles. My further research didn't yield additional results. Turns out, they're just a couple of guys, with ties to Virginia, who write in a similarly bland style, who get worked up over the "real" and/or "fake" unemployment numbers.

I'm impressed I this whole impassioned post there was not one mention of Hillary and/or the Clintons in general.

Fair enough.

Need mention of the Prancing Billy Series.

Yes! That thing gained amazing traction. Me and Junkie still talk about it. We should probably get lives.

Speaking of getting lives, I'm more than a quarter-century into this so-called career and my lasting contribution is not a Pulitzer or another award or a spot in a BASW but a message board style guide. I'm proud, but also ashamed. :D

Here's a little question of SJ.com history that I would like answered: Years and years ago, we collectively worked on the SJ.com novel. I remember @21 in particular being part of it. Our main character was called Denny Crane.

Denny Crane was soon the name of William Shatner's character on Boston Legal.

COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT.

I didn't see a single reference to JDV in that list, and that is a gosh darn travesty.

I demand entries be made at least for his greatest contributions - "Provably. Demonstrably." and "SCOREBOARD."

Also, I think deck deserves an additional nod for "[blank]: HOF?" The threads themselves are interesting and it is often a good inside joke on other threads.

Some omissions.
