2021-22 College Basketball Thread

I based on watching the replay. No. 22 was at the foul line and it looked like he could be in a position to set the pick for Manek. But he's already going backwards just as Manek starts to slip. Maybe the play was to throw a long pash to the far corner but man that's a low percentage pash to make.

I think the Tar Heels started their motion way too soon, including Manek, who clearly was supposed to get to the corner off a screen. Otherwise, why set that screen? Double for someone else. They clearly had not worked on that play. The lack of timing and no viable second option showed that much.

The other problem was that Justin McKoy, whose only previous experience in meaningful action came in overtime against Baylor, has no clue.

Could be — just a high risk play that far away. Clearly no. 22 had no idea what he was doing on that play.

Talk about damning someone with faint praise...

He gets a lot of steals. Look at the defensive numbers the last two seasons under AK. He'll pair nicely with Jelly Walker.

I liked the "Portal Kombat" thing.

Remember last November, when Overtime Elite was the subject of fawning stories predicting it would be a "disruptor" of the system? I find it interesting that this on3 story wonders where Bates will wind up, and the sanctified Overtime Elite isn't mentioned. Maybe it's an option. But given the constant hype OE got only months ago, you'd think it would be at the forefront of every speculative transfer story.

I think OE - as well as the NBA version of it - will need to consistently get players drafted in the Top 10 before more players go there.
