Music Thread (post a song)

Since people are talking about it on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thread ...

Found "The Wall" on vinyl yesterday.
I have both that and "DSOTM".
I know that Dark Side was released 6 years earlier, and The Wall is a soundtrack, but it's incredible to me how different from each other two albums can be.

... then there's a couple of strong albums in between – "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" – which will give you some idea of how they got from here to there.

Point of order: "The Wall" was simply a rock-opera-type concept album when it was released in late 1979 and didn't become adapted for film until 1982. Not a soundtrack.

Also the second vinyl album I ever bought as a kid. At $10.99 on allowance money, it made a dent in my finances.

Been listening to a lot of Peter Gabriel lately. I don't know if I appreciated how fantastic this song is. Growing up, the video kind of overwhelmed the music. Love the bash and guitar riffs. Amazing how big of a hit it was (was part of the "Genesis run" of No. 1 hits in '86, considering how long it was for a radio hit.

This is my favourite Peter Gabriel song, one of the great lost rockers of it's time. Kinda get a Who-like vibe from this one.

My daughter made me this needlepoint for my birthday last year.
