Music Thread (post a song)

"Whammer Jammer, let me hear you, deckie!"

Magic deck is one of the great rock and roll stage names, closely followed by Silver Bullet Band sax player Alto Reed.

Admittedly, I've been out of the pop culture loop for a few years, no time for movies, not really hip to music, but my goodness is there a lot of great music out there if you don't depend on the radio to find it for you. Or depend on "brand names." Now that I'm supervising at a warehouse where I have control of a mashive speaker, looking forward to exploring more.

Amen to this. There are so, so many talented people. I know few people know Dave Hause, and he's probably my favorite artist of the last 10 years. I'm trying my best not to flood this thread with Sammy Rae and The Friends since finding them, and they've been building a fervent audience for seven years. I'm amazed at how talented people can be.

Like, for instance, their performance of their song "Talk It Up." Give it a whole listen. Look at the audience response, Sammy loves Springsteen, and note her mid-song Springsteen sermon and then the absolute joy and musicianship of her band. Big (new) fan, and there's a million acts out there I haven't discovered yet. That's why I like this thread so much.

Maybe kind of a cross-thread with the "connectivity" thread - but social media has overtaken radio as the way music is discovered. Fewer barriers, but also probably harder to become a "national name." I don't want to flood this thing with Kyndle Wylde stuff (though I could), but this performance has to be the greatest performance in front of the smallest audience I've ever seen. And yet she absolutely nails it.

I don't know what the deal is but if I try to play a youtube by hitting play on the post, it fails out. So i went to youtube and searched Kyndle Wylde, and I didn't play one of the above first. This caught my eye and absolutely floored me. I'm a convert. Thanks.

I did "I have nothing" second lol.
