A former coworker of mine is a singer/songwriter and adjunct professor at NYU. He wrote a piece recently on how technology has always dictated the logistics of songwriting (how many songs are on an album, how long an intro is, etc.) He now postalizes that streaming music services will soon lead to a new revolution in how songs are constructed. He expounds on it here:
Just after he wrote this, a new technology to break the streaming services revenue was released. It constantly streams 30 second snippets of songs in order to wrack up revenue for albums. He is asking people to stream this site in the background to test if the streaming revenue model can be broken.
