That was a weak goal. One English defender on the counter. And the defender had the ball and completely whiffed on it or thought he had backup that was not there.

Foden was player of the year in the Premier League. Bellingham was player of the year in La Liga. England had plenty of star power. Kane looked about 55 out there tonight, but he did score goals in the tourney. Foden was not very visible tonight or throughout. When your best players don't star, you lose.Southgate built this squad not on starpower but on ability. He kept Harry Kane at 10 but damn near all else were newcomers. And in all honesty, it damn near worked out.
