2021-22 College Basketball Thread

I got accepted at Gonzaga for a master's. Ex GF kicked me to the curb right before Christmas, and I didn't follow through on the school.

Went to a big-ash family reunion in Spokane in 2003.

I can see Huggins' idea sucking much of the life out of the tournament much like the CFP has to bowl season.

I get giving the benefit of the doubt to Duke and Kansas as top 10 teams, but we're start Texas at No. 5? Am I missing something besides a coaching change that makes them better than last year.

Giving Texas a slot in the Top 25 before a single game has been played is a modern sports truism. That way you can make fun when they lose early and slide out of it.

Yeah, that's more about football, but I'm an equal opportunity Teasip hater.

Madness? Huggins says majors need own tourney

What a complete misunderstanding of what makes the NCAA tournament a multi-billion dollar entity by Huggins.

The first weekend and all the excitement of filling out brackets is driven by mid-majors being in the tournament. Take them away and you have a giant version of the major conference conference tournaments, which grow staler and staler by the year.

But not a shock given the disdain Huggy Bear has shown toward the mid-majors that surround him at UC and WVU.

Also, the preseason No. 1 team in the country this year would also not be included in the tournament if Bob Huggins' brilliant plan were enacted.

My reaction to Hug's idea was that he could eat a big bag of fat decks. If you want to kill the goose that lays the billion dollar eggs, go right ahead.

I don't have a problem with them starting top 15, maybe somewhere around just outside the top 10. I just don't see how you take what they did last year, add what they added -- including a really good coach -- and say that's the fifth best team in the country, even though I realize we know nothing about any of these teams

There have probably been other athletes already rolling into school in vehicles paid by NIL deals, but when it's a UK kid in a Porsche it's gonna get some play.

UK freshman signs deal with Porsche dealership
Is anybody else surprised that car deals aren't particularly abundant? Last I checked, there were fewer than 30 football players with these arrangements, and I doubt the total has gone up appreciably since then.

I'm a marketer by trade these days and for the life of me I don't understand how an 18-year-old kid driving a Porsche can spur buyers to car lots.
