Seems like a big swing and miss for the Mets. Seemed pretty clear they wanted Counsell. Understandable if he stayed with his hometown Brewers.

But losing out to the Cubs? Not great for Stearns and Cohen's money. I can't and won't judge the Mendoza hire. Because like a lot of people, I really know nothing about him.

Maybe Betts pushes Acuna, otherwise it's Ohtani, Snell, Cole, Carroll and Henderson.
I'm not a big Dave Roberts guy, but he probably did his best managing job this season with a revamped roster, lots of injuries and an infusion of youth. I'd put him ahead of Snitker.

Bochy over Hyde? I'd put Hyde 1 and Bochy 2 and Cash 3. I wouldn't put Bochy 1 partially for the O's overachieving and part on consistency.

Every Christmas list I ever made included something I knew I had no shot of receiving.

That said, I'd be happy to take a middling prospect or two and pay his entire salary just to not have him clogging the lineup anymore.
