2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Ref called a common foul on Kentucky but then reviewed for a potential hook and hold on Auburn. Instead of reversing the call and ashessing a flagrant 1 on Broome, the ref makes it a double foul but only ashes Auburn with a common. I did not think that was allowed on a review.

Nobody is quite like the University of New Jersey at Durham, but that's still a pretty significant chunk of out-of-region students.

Funny thing is, the first time Davidson left the SoCon in 1988 their complaint was being unable to keep up in a league dominated by public schools. (Furman was the only other private member then.)
It is a decent sized chunk of out of region students — especially compared to others in the SoCon. And many of their parents are going to be quite well off. I suspect it was also the result of thinking they were good enough to take on an A-10 that wouldn't have Xavier or Butler.

Don't mind me sitting in the hall of the BJCC and working on faking a happy face for the rest of my daughter's dance competition. What a complete pants shipping by Bama.

That last shot by Tennessee was all I saw of the game. Helluva shot. darn little defense against it.

It came after Alabama had the ball under the basket with 3.8 seconds and two timeouts left. And they swallowed a five-second count.

Nine missed free throws are a little bit haunting too. I get that one SEC loss shouldn't put me on tilt but they went from the cusp of locking up a No. 1 seed to now a distinct possibility they don't get a double bye at the conference tournament.
