NFL Wild Card Weekend -- Nazareth, live from Philadelphia

Both No. 1 seeds are playing on Saturday, which I ashume is for the slight competitive advantage of an extra day if they win.

I believe the No. 1 seeds get somewhat a priority of scheduling, right?

Seems like it lately. Fourth year in a row both No. 1 seeds playing on Saturday in the divisional round.

Yes the Monday night playoff game does throw a wrench into the priority thing.

It's why since they went to this latest expansion the Monday wild card game is a 4 vs. 5 so they can lock in the divisional schedule on Sunday.

I'm letting it ride on Playoff Lamar rearing its ugly head until the Ravens get to a Super Bowl.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. The Steelers didn't challenge him nearly enough to force any mistakes Saturday night. They were too busy throwing the entire defense at Henry and still failing to stop him. It was one oft he dumbest defensive plans I've ever seen. They had Watt and Highsmith crash down on Henry on the zone read, with either a safety or an inside linebacker trying to stop Jackson one-on-one-on the edge. It failed miserably.

The Bills aren't great defensively, but at least they will have the sense to make things more difficult on Jackson.

I think the Bills-Ravens were always going to be locked into the late Sunday slot because it's got to be the top game in terms of interest and competitiveness.

Beyond that, it had to be Rams/Vikings at Philly for Sunday, because they weren't going to make teams play Monday-Saturday in the playoffs.
I was wondering why the NBC game was moved from the usual SNF spot, but this makes sense.

I'm pulling for the Bills and hopefully they have learned from the earlier game this season. The Ravens destroyed them with 271 yards rushing, including 199 from Henry.

Cars with California license plates are lined up at gas stations in Quartzsite, the first city across the border in Arizona. They're heading to Glendale. Oh yeah, gas is a dollar or two cheaper in Arizona.

I thought that kicker was gonna miss when they had the long shot of him touching his head and halfway putting his helmet on 3-4 times. That looked like a lot of nerves or a tic.

Zane Gonzalez has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. That's why he does all that.

Well that makes sense. And explains why the camera stayed on him for what seemed like 20 seconds.

I wonder what managing OCD is like for an NFL kicker, or any athlete. At least as compared to other jobs.

Facing that type of pressure makes it more difficult. On the other hand, the job of a professional athlete is so regimented that I would guess the daily/weekly routine actually helps.
